Albani also spelled Albano, or I'abane Italian painter, one of the 17th-century Bolognese masters trained in the studio of the Carracci. He assisted Guido Reni in a number of major decorative cycles, including thatof the Chapel of the Annunciation (1609–12) in the Quirinal Palace and the choir (1612–14) of Santa Maria della Pace.

Albani lived for several years in Rome, where he had his own academy. There he painted, after the designs of Annibale Carracci, the whole of the frescoes in the Chapel of San Diego in the Church of San Giacomo degli Spagnuoli. His best-known frescoes are on mythological subjects, such as the “Dance of the Amorini” (c. 1625; Brera, Milan). In 1616 hereturned to Bologna, where he remained except for visits to Mantua in 1621–22 and Florence in 1633.
