Spanning a career of some forty odd years of mostly portrait, face and figure illustration, Bernard's love for painting everything from people and pets, landscapes, seascapes and romantic beach scenes to reproducing Old Masters has seen his work achieve worldwide acclaim which is eagerly sought by collectors for the vibrancy, beauty and joy of life he instils in his paintings.

Bernards' love of drawing was always evident, with a remarkable ability to observe a subject and translate it to paper with incredible accuracy even as young boy of 6 years of age. Later, studying at the world famous Julian Ashton’s Art School in Sydney, Australia he was instructed by noted artist Henry Gibbons, having been a student there Bernard joins the ranks of William Dobell, Brett Whiteley, Nigel Thomson and Paul Newton.
