which both text and ills were cut from the same wood
block. No existing b.-b. s can be dated before c. 1455,
i.e. after the invention of movable type, and they
continued into the 16th c. Although produced in large
numbers in Germany and the Netherlands they included
only a few titles. The best known are Ars moriendi and
Biblia pauperuui.
